About Kilnamanagh St John (Wells)
Kilnamanagh St John (Wells) was built in 1864. It has a four-bay nave, built of squared stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and buttressed walls.
The building
Designed by Joseph Welland, the church is constructed of cream-coloured Knockavocka fieldstone with silver-grey granite dressings. The interior features an exposed timber roof on cut-granite corbels, a gothic-style timber panelled pulpit, and a memorial lectern dated 1898. The east chancel contains a stained glass Memorial Trinity Window signed by William Warrington and Son in 1865.
