About Kilmanagh
Kilmanagh was built in 1846 in the Gothic Revival style. The church is built of limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, buttressed walls and lancet windows.
The building
Designed by Joseph Welland, the church stands on the site of an earlier structure from c.1750. It features a projecting porch with a flanking tower rising into an octagonal spire. The limestone walls include clasping buttresses and a carved stringcourse. A lean-to vestry is attached to the east chancel. The site includes a graveyard with markers dating from c.1750 to the present and a post-1846 gateway with wrought iron gates.
