About Killeigh
Killeigh was built in 1644. It has a four-bay nave, built of stone. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
The building
Substantially repaired c.1837, the church features random coursed stone and roughcast rendered walls with a pitched slated roof. It stands on the site of the twelfth-century Priory of Canons Regular of Saint Augustine. The interior contains king post roof trusses, a stone baptismal font and a medieval sandstone effigy stored in the porch. A freestanding cast-iron bell and a mid nineteenth-century snecked limestone mausoleum are located in the graveyard.
