About St. Moling's Church, Ballycanew
St. Moling's Church, Ballycanew was built between 1912 and 1913. It has a simple single-cell form and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
History
The church was designed in 1911 by George Luke O’Connor and dedicated in 1913. It succeeded an incomplete church begun in 1840–46 and abandoned during the Great Famine. The sanctuary was reordered in 1990 and the church was rededicated in 1991.
