About Inniskeel (Portnoo)
SS Conall and Mark’s Church, Naran, was built between 1825 and 1828. It is a three-bay hall with a three-stage tower at the west end, built of squared and coursed rubble stone. Notable features include the crenellated parapet to the tower and a vestry to the south-east.
History
Extensive remodelling was undertaken in 1906 to designs by Robert Eccles Buchanan of Derry, including a new roof, chancel and vestry. Tenders were invited in April and the church reportedly reopened on 28 October 1906; John Bloomfield of Brookeborough was the main contractor.
