About Glacknadrummond Methodist Church
Glacknadrummond Methodist Church was built around 1850. The church has rendered walls under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an open timber roof and buttressed walls. The church stands in its own graveyard.
The building
This detached three-bay single-storey chapel features a projecting entrance porch to the north-east and a four-bay extension to the north-west. The structure is defined by roughcast rendered walls with smooth rendered plinths and buttresses at the corners. Architectural details include pointed arched lancet openings with stucco hoodmouldings, a pitched purple slate roof with grey clayware ridge tiles, and an octagonal timber louvered tin-clad ridge vent. The church stands within its own grounds, enclosed by a painted roughcast rendered boundary wall with a hoop-topped wrought-iron gate.
