About Forgney St Munis
Forgney St Munis dates from 1813. It has a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and crenellated parapets.
History
The church was built or rebuilt c. 1810 and altered c. 1870, possibly containing fabric from an earlier c. 1750 structure. The 1813 bell tower and side vestibules were added by the Countess of Rosse in honour of her late husband, Laurence Parsons-Harman. A stained-glass window commemorating Oliver Goldsmith was installed in 1897.
