About Crossmolina St Mary
Crossmolina St Mary was built between 1818 and 1819. It has a three-bay nave, built of rubble limestone. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and crenellated parapets.
Notable features
The church received financial support from the Board of First Fruits in 1809. Its interior contains cut-white marble and polished brass wall monuments commemorating General Sir James Jackson C.C.B. K.H. and Godfrey and William Fetherstonhaugh, alongside a Pratt Memorial East Window supplied by Irish Stained Glass of Dublin. The adjacent graveyard holds markers for the Cooke, Fetherstonhaugh, Jackson, Knox and Paget families.
