About Cloyne St Colman
Cloyne St Colman was built around 1280. It has a cruciform plan, built of rubble limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, window tracery and buttressed walls.
The building
Altered and extended in 1642, 1705, 1774-1776, 1856 and 1893-94, the structure now serves as a cathedral. It features a gabled chapter house to the north-east and a timber scissors brace roof. Interior elements include a carved timber porch with seraphim, an alabaster effigy of George Berkeley, and a carved limestone font.
