About Gurranekennefeake Holytrinity (Eastferry)
Gurranekennefeake Holytrinity (Eastferry) was built around 1865. It has a three-bay nave, built of squared sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, buttressed walls and lancet windows.
History
Designed by architect William Atkins and built by Mr Devlin, the church was completed in two years after the foundation stone was laid in 1885. The site was given by Richard Wallis Goold Adams of Jamesbrook. The interior displays an influence from Burges and Street, featuring exposed materials such as polychrome brick walls and a scissors truss roof with carved marble brackets.
