About St Mary’s Church
St Mary’s Church was built around 1850. It has a single-cell plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched tiled roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, carved Stations of the Cross and a marble altar.
The building
The church features a single-bay sacristy on the west elevation and a Tudor-arch entrance with a tooled limestone surround. Exterior details include tooled limestone cross finials, carved pinnacles on brackets, and a freestanding octagonal holy water font. The interior contains a carved stone font, statues in the nave, and a plaster ceiling rose above the altar.
