About Church of the Assumption, Urlingford

Church of the Assumption, Urlingford was built in 1832. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and pinnacles.

History

The church was partially reconstructed to designs signed by Simon Aloysius Leonard of William Henry Byrne and Son. Its sanctuary was reordered in 1963 as part of the liturgical reforms associated with the Second Vatican Council.
