About Church of St Joseph
Church of St Joseph was completed in 1939. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and mosaic work.
Notable people
The church was designed in 1938 by Edward Raphael Ryan of Galway and reconstructed under the aegis of Reverend Henry Feeney PP. The interior contains Classical wall monuments dedicated to Reverend John Goode PP, who died in 1885, and Richard Golding, who died in 1864. A nearby chapel erected in 1830 was supported financially by Patrick Kirwan of Dalganpark.
