About Church of Mary Immaculate & St. Joseph, Caherlistrane
Church of Mary Immaculate & St. Joseph, Caherlistrane was built around 1870 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a cruciform plan with a four-bay nave, built of limestone. Notable features include stained glass including a rose window, carved Stations of the Cross and a marble altar.
Notable features
The gabled entrance porch is recorded as apparently salvaged from elsewhere. In front of the church stands a decorative cast-iron bell stand and bell made by Byrne of Dublin and dated 1918. Inside, the roof uses timber scissors trusses with a decorative panelled ceiling.
