About Church of St James
Church of St James is a Catholic church at Bushypark, Co. Galway, in the St. Joseph parish of the Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. Sunday Mass is at 10:00am, with the Saturday vigil at 5:30pm. Fr Peter Daly began the church in 1832 and completed it in 1838. It was consecrated by Bishop George Browne, the first bishop of Galway. The stone came from Menlo and was ferried across the Corrib. A tower was added in 1840 at the expense of Lady Ffrench, who was later buried in a vault behind the church.
