About Church of SS Peter & Paul, Tallanstown
Church of SS Peter & Paul, Tallanstown was built around 1780. It has a T-shaped plan and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and crenellated parapets.
The building
The full-height interior contains carved timber pews, painted timber galleries in the east and west transepts, a painted carved-timber reredos and a vertically sheeted ceiling. The yard also contains priests' graves and a grotto dated 1988, with cast-iron railings and gates along the southern boundary.
