About Church of Saint Cataldus, Ballycahill
Church of Saint Cataldus, Ballycahill was built around 1835. It has a T-shaped plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and an open timber roof.
The building
A sacristy occupies the south-east of the plan, while a porch projects from the gable of the south transept. The window openings contain mullioned, traceried timber sliding-sash frames, providing additional detail beyond the church's basic T-plan.
