About Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles

Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles was built between 1860 and 1865. The church is built of ashlar limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a seven-stage bell tower, stained glass including a rose window and buttressed walls.
