About Chapelizod St Laurence
Chapelizod St Laurence was built around 1865. It has a hall-and-tower form. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, crenellated parapets and pinnacles.
The building
The main entrance has varnished timber-sheeted double doors in a granite surround, reached by six granite steps with a bootscrape. Entry is through the tower to an interior with a stone-flagged floor, painted walls and replacement timber-sheeted wainscoting.
