About Celbridge Christ Church (Kildrought)
Celbridge Christ Church (Kildrought) was built between 1883 and 1884. It has a five-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an open timber roof and lancet windows.
The building
The interior includes a Gothic-style font, a terracotta-tiled central aisle between timber pews, a Gothic-style pulpit with clerk's desk and a pointed chancel arch. An encaustic-tiled stepped dais leads to the chancel, where a Gothic-style reredos stands beneath the east window.
