About Ardcolm (Castlebridge)
Ardcolm (Castlebridge) was built in 1847. It has a three-bay nave, built of rubble sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained glass including a rose window, a bellcote and buttressed walls.
History
The church stands on the site of an ancient castle and repurposes the shell of a building erected in 1764 with aid from the Board of First Fruits. The current structure was built in 1847, featuring an East Window modelled after one at York Minster. It forms part of an ecclesiastical ensemble alongside a nearby glebe house.
