About Wicklow

Wicklow was built around 1650. It has a four-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and window tracery.

History

The church was extended in 1777, with a porch added c.1880 and a canted apse in 1912. Renovations occurred c.1965 and c.1985. The south porch incorporates a stone doorcase from an older church, c.1200. Some stained glass installed during the 1912 works is attributed to Sarah Purser.
