About St. Therese’s Church, Brickens
St. Therese’s Church, Brickens was built between 1927 and 1928. It has a six-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, buttressed walls and lancet windows.
The building
The church is attributed to Reverend Charles J. White PP and features a rectilinear plan with a high pitched slate roof. Its interior includes an exposed timber roof construction on beaded corbels and a cut-veined white marble Gothic-style altar. The sanctuary was reordered in accordance with liturgical reforms, incorporating contemporary joinery and the Flanagan Memorial Trinity Window.
