About St Patrick's Church, Castlerea
St Patrick's Church, Castlerea was built in 1896. It has a cruciform plan, built of limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows and buttressed walls. It was designed by George Goldie.
Notable features
The interior has a bright, colourful treatment, with prominent ceiling trusses and an elaborate high altar added at a later date by an unknown designer.
