About St Michael, Danesfort
St Michael, Danesfort was built in 1812. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
History
After the Second Vatican Council, the church underwent an extensive renovation programme directed by Monsignor James Carey. The interior was remodelled after 1965 but retained Gothic-style altar furniture at the crossing.
