About St. Mary's Church, Leap
St. Mary's Church, Leap was built around 1850. It has a six-bay nave, built of stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
History
The interior was reordered following Vatican II, but later nineteenth-century confessionals and panelling survive. The church is a barn or single-cell type of a form found elsewhere in rural West Cork.
