About St Mary’s Church, Crosserlough
St Mary’s Church, Crosserlough was built in 1888 in the Gothic Revival style. It has an eight-bay nave, built of stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and an open timber roof.
History
William Hague, a native of Co. Cavan who designed many churches in the county, designed the church. It replaced an earlier church west of the site that was destroyed by fire at the beginning of the 1880s.
