About St. Patrick's Church, Kilnaleck
St. Patrick's Church, Kilnaleck was built in 1882 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a single-cell plan with a five-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
The building
The church features a gabled sacristy to the south-east and flat-roofed porches added in 1973 to the west front and south. Architectural details include raised limestone bargestones, a limestone crucifix on the gable, and wrought-iron work on the belfry. The interior was re-ordered with a raised altar at the centre of the nave, reflecting reforms from the Second Vatican Council.
