About St. Matthew's Church, Crosskeys
St. Matthew's Church, Crosskeys was built in 1839 in the Romanesque style. It has a three-bay nave and rendered walls. Notable features include a two-stage tower, stained-glass windows and an internal gallery.
History
Originally a simple barn church erected by the Revd John Murray in 1839, the building was extensively renovated in 2008. This refurbishment included the addition of a two-stage tower to the east corner and a single-storey porch with ancillary rooms. The renovation reused or replicated original stone details, such as the round-headed windows and door surrounds, which may have been relocated from the main gable.
