About St Kieran, Tullaherin
St Kieran, Tullaherin was built in 1803. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
The building
This detached five-bay Gothic-style Catholic church stands on a prominent corner site in Co. Clare. It features a cruciform plan with a double-height nave, single-bay transepts, and a shallow chancel. The rendered walls display pointed-arch windows with block-and-start surrounds and hood mouldings. A post-1965 renovation remodelled the full-height interior, while the exterior retains its early aspect. An attached presbytery and a detached outbuilding with a bellcote complete the complex.
