About St. Joseph's Shandrum
St. Joseph's Shandrum dates from 1847. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave, built of rubble limestone under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and lancet windows.
History
A refurbishment is recorded for 1994. The transepts have projecting canted chapels on their eastern sides and the north transept carries a sacristy extension. Inside, a castellated carved-timber entrance screen survives, while pointed arches rise from octagonal columns.
