About St. John the Baptist, Rusheen

St. John the Baptist, Rusheen was built around 1800. It has a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote, an internal gallery and window tracery.

The building

This freestanding gable-fronted church features a three-bay double-height nave with a central breakfront. A porch addition adjoins the front, while a sacristy and service building are located at the rear. The structure has rendered walls with line-and-ruled detailing on the front elevation and a pitched slate roof. A carved limestone bellcote with a cross finial sits atop the front gable.
