The building

This gable-fronted church has an altar at the south end, gabled porches to the north and east, and a recent flat-roofed sacristy to the south, with a pedimented carved limestone bellcote carrying a cross finial and cast-iron bell on the north gable. The north wall combines snecked limestone and sandstone with pilaster buttresses, while other elevations are roughcast rendered, and round-headed windows feature cut limestone sills above an interior with exposed roof timbers. A priests' graveyard to the east holds carved limestone markers and an obelisk, and a rubble stone boundary wall to the west contains holy water stoups.
