About St. Finbarr’s Church, Bantry
St. Finbarr’s Church, Bantry was built in 1826. It has a cruciform plan with a four-bay nave, built of sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
Notable people
The design of the church is attributed to the Pain brothers. Sculptor Seamus Murphy was responsible for the statues added to the entrance niches during the twentieth century.
