About St. Finbarr and Holy Angels, Inchigeela
St. Finbarr and Holy Angels, Inchigeela was built in 1842. It has a single-cell plan with a five-bay nave, built of rubble limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery. The church stands in its own graveyard.
History
Reverend Jeremiah Holland built the church, and its interior was altered following Vatican II. Construction took place in the decades immediately after Catholic Emancipation and before the Great Famine.
