About St. Feichin's

St. Feichin's was built around 1885. It has a four-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower with a spire, stained-glass windows, window tracery and buttressed walls. The church stands in its own graveyard.

The building

The church is constructed of dark rock-faced limestone with light-coloured ashlar trim. A four-stage tower with an octagonal belfry and spire was added c.1912, attributed to designs by W.H. Byrne & Son, who may also have designed the original 1885 structure. The site contains remains of a late Medieval St Mary’s church and a small penal chapel.
