About St Columba’s Church, Massmount

St Columba’s Church, Massmount was built around 1780. The church has rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote, an internal gallery and an open timber roof.

History

The original construction date is uncertain: this may be the church recorded at Rosnakil in 1785, with Reverend Joseph Friel as its original builder. Around 1980 the interior was reordered and modern Y-tracery windows were added.
