About St. Bernard's Church, Abbeyknockmoy
St. Bernard's Church, Abbeyknockmoy was built around 1820. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and an open timber roof.
The building
A four-bay lower extension was added at the altar end during the twentieth century, and a glazed entrance porch was added to the north-west transept. The grounds also contain a cast-iron bellstand with an inscribed bell.
