About St. Benignus Church, Staplestown
St. Benignus Church, Staplestown was built around 1840. It has a four-bay nave and rendered walls. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
History
The church was extended about 1970 by a flat-roofed bay at the west. Earlier fabric includes six-over-six timber sash windows with fanlight heads, while the interior has exposed timber roof construction with trefoil motifs and a plaster reredos in a Hindu Gothic treatment.
