About Saint Patrick's Church, Gurteen
Saint Patrick's Church, Gurteen was built around 1840. The church is built of squared stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and buttressed walls.
The building
The central nave is flanked by east and west aisles. At the north chancel wall, the glazing combines quatrefoil and oculus openings, while triangular-headed openings appear at the later porch in contrast with the lancets elsewhere.
