About Sacred Heart, Lough Egish
Sacred Heart, Lough Egish was built in 1837. It has a cruciform plan and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows and lancet windows. The church stands in its own graveyard.
Notable features
The interior contains three galleries in addition to the ground-floor pews. A reredos forms a principal decorative element, while the church also retains carved timber roof construction and Stations of the Cross.
