About Rathfarnham
Rathfarnham was built around 1785. It has a cruciform plan and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows. The vestry was added in 1821.
The building
The church features a cruciform plan with roughcast rendered walls, cut stone quoins, and a pitched slate roof. An octagonal spire with corner finials tops the tower, which was added in 1821 along with the porch and vestry. Transepts were subsequently added in 1852 and 1889. The site includes ashlar gate piers, a rendered boundary wall with cast-iron gates, and a large yew tree within the grounds.
