About Church of the Annunciation
Church of the Annunciation was built between 1870 and 1880 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a five-bay nave, built of squared granite. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and buttressed walls. It was designed by George Ashlin.
The building
The church has a semi-circular apse at the south end and a single-storey vestry on the west side. Above the north entrance are two large pointed openings, each containing a pentafoil roundel over paired windows, and the roof is laid in two-tone slate.
