About Our Lady of Lourdes
Our Lady of Lourdes was built between 1911 and 1914 in the Romanesque style. It has a cruciform plan with a five-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and buttressed walls.
History
Thomas McNamara designed the parish church for Mullahoran and Loughduff. It replaced an earlier church in the surviving graveyard about 100 metres to the south-west; the site also incorporates earlier gravestones and stands beside an earlier parochial house.
