About Our Lady and Saint Lua, Ballina
Our Lady and Saint Lua, Ballina was built around 1845. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave, built of rubble sandstone. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
The building
The detached cruciform-plan church features a three-bay entrance gable and chamfered re-entrant corners. Construction utilizes sandstone rubble walls with snecked limestone at the west end, topped by pitched copper sheet roofs. A single-storey sacristy is located at the east end, while a limestone bellcote with a cross finial sits on the chancel. The site includes a graveyard.
