About New Ross St Mary

New Ross St Mary was built in 1813. It has a four-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower with a broach spire, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and lancet windows.

The building

Erected in 1813 with Board of First Fruits support, the Church of Ireland structure was improved in 1860 and restored in 1892. It features a rectangular plan with a four-bay nave and single-bay chancel. The interior retains original fabric including spiral staircases, a 1911 Tyndall Memorial Trinity Window by Franz Mayer and Company, and a Latin-inscribed wall monument signed by John Van Nost the Younger.
