About Lough Eske Christ Church
Lough Eske Christ Church was built in 1846. It has a two-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a two-stage tower, an internal gallery and window tracery.
History
Originally funded by Thomas Brooke of Lough Eske Castle, the church was probably built as an estate church and chapel of ease for Killymard parish. Lough Eske apparently became a separate parish in 1870. Brooke bequeathed a considerable sum towards its endowment after his death in 1884, which possibly funded the 1905 addition of the chancel and vestry.
