About Knocknarea St Anne (Strandhill)
Knocknarea St Anne (Strandhill) was built in 1843. It has a single-cell plan with a four-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, crenellated parapets and window tracery.
The building
The entrance porch has a pointed-arch doorway with tooled and chamfered ashlar-limestone dressings, a hood mould and a vertically sheeted timber door reached by limestone steps. The burial ground has cut-stone markers, gravel paths and a rubble-stone boundary with a wrought-iron gateway.
