About Kiltennel (Courtown)
Kiltennel (Courtown) was built in 1770. It has a single-cell plan with a three-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, pinnacles and window tracery.
Notable people
A major reconstruction of 1879–80 was designed by Richard Langrishe of Knocktopher Abbey. The interior includes the 1880 Stopford Memorial West Window with glass by Heaton, Butler and Bayne, an 1836 monument to Lady Charlotte Albinia Stopford by Thomas Campbell, and an 1894 opus sectile memorial designed by Ada Currey.
