About Church of St Kevin
Church of St Kevin was built between 1939 and 1941. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and lancet windows.
The building
Designed by Thomas Joseph Cullen, the church was erected on a site previously occupied by a national school designed by James Joseph McCarthy. The structure features roughcast walls with red brick quoins and a pitched slate roof adorned with Celtic Cross finials. Interior elements include an exposed Queen Post timber roof construction and a sanctuary reordered in 1987.
